To start off, I would like to say that as usual I was late to see this film. Somewhere between finals and graduation it slipped my mind that this film was actually making it to theaters. What is there to say? This film is probably the exact fix you need for that summer action flick craving. It's got heroes, explosions, villains, product placement, more product placement, and more product placement. Let me just clarify that this film has tons of product product placement. After the first 20 minutes Read more [...]

Utter confusion. Exactly what you find yourself in through the first half of the recently released Cloud Atlas. This sci-fi film directed by Tom Tykwer, Andy Wachowski, and Lana Wachowski is 172 minutes of mystery, drama, and suspense. I must say I was late to this film, not only in the viewing but also in finding out about its origins. As most of us know, video games have Read more [...]

Every time I watch Toy Story, the little kid inside of me wants to come out. There is just something so adorable and genuine about Pixar Animations that just makes me tear up. Well, it has been a few years since the Toy Story series, and Pixar has released their latest project which premiered yesterday, called Brave. This animated film would best be described as an "Irish Mulan" so says a colleague of mine, but regardless of its comparable nature to older Disney titles, Brave does stand on its own.

It's funny in the past couple of years, as more and more tablets are being developed, companies are continually trying to sell this wholesome idea of selling a product that will make you read or just play angry birds. But regardless of what the sleekest new product is, people tend to forget that the product does not read for them. It has been a few weeks since I lent a friend a copy of John Knowles's A Seperate Peace, and each time I met with him the book seemed to remain unread. Meanwhile sales Read more [...]
