A very sad Holidays

In this comedic short film by Ace Anderson, our protagonist, Chris, navigates a holiday season that turns out to be anything but typical. His journey starts with a playful disagreement about seasonal greetings with his coworker.

Despite maintaining an upbeat approach, Chris' holiday takes a dramatic turn with his mother's new relationship with his high school bully, Tyler, leading to a series of bizarre and comical events. The twist deepens when his mother reveals an unexpected pregnancy, leaving Chris grappling with the prospect of becoming a half-sibling at his age.

Amid these strange developments, Chris finds himself constantly pestered by a brutally honest TV announcer whose commentary seems to uncannily mirror his own life. Amid moments of solo canned cranberry sauce feasts, cringe-inducing text updates from his mother, and self-gifting a mysterious box of odds and ends, Chris's holiday is far from the conventional.

This offbeat comedy reaches a hilariously absurd climax during the New Year's countdown. As the year ticks over, Chris' holiday journey comes full circle when he again encounters his coworker. When asked about his holiday, Chris, with his now signature dry humor, replies, "It was pretty much the usual". The film ends on a high note hinting that the following year may also hold its share of comically tragic moments.

"A Very Sad Holidays" is a humorous exploration of holiday misadventures, unexpected family complications, and one man's unwavering resolve to endure the most dismal of seasons with sarcasm and reluctant acceptance.
